The service on the 2nd Friday of each month at 7:00 PM is led by our Rabbi and is an interactive and participatory celebration. We release the cares of the week and welcome in the joy of a Shabbat celebrated with family and friends. With worship, stories and study we strengthen our bonds to each other, our traditions, and our G-d.
4th Friday Service
The Shabbat Evening Service on the Fourth Friday of each month at 7:00 PM is led by our pararabbinic fellow, a lay leader who has recieved training from the Union of Reform Judaism. Instead of a sermon, in this service we break into discussion groups. One group is for children. One group, for adults, studies the weekly Torah portion. The other group for adults studies a contemporary issue. After discussion the groups return, share what they have learned, and the services end followed by an Oneg Shabbat of refreshments and socializing.
Saturday Service
Our Shabbat morning service occurs on the Saturday morning following the second Friday of the month. Services start either at 10:30 AM or, when we welcome a Bar or Bat Mitzvah at 9:30 AM (if you come at 9:30 AM and we are not having a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, join us at that time for Torah Study). Our Shabbat morning service is a community affair. Less formal in tone than our Friday Evening service, our service incorporates both personal and communal prayer, opportunities to learn more about the structure and content of a Shabbat service, and always includes a Torah reading and discussion. On those Shabbat mornings when we welcome a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, the service is more formal but no less participatory as we gather together to welcome the newest adults to our community.
