Pre-school and Kindergarten
This class gives students a taste of religious school. They meet once a month to introduce students to being part of the school. They also experience music, special events, and time with the Rabbi. This class has a two year cycle. The first year focuses on major holidays and celebrations. The second year is focused on Torah stories. Hebrew language is also introduced, such as the Shabbat blessings and high frequency words like, mom, dad and hello.

Sample activity: We made Shabbat bags -- a gift bag with the prayers on the outside. Inside were flowers, candle holders, and candles. Some students still have these bags in their homes, even several years later. -- Paula Farkas, teacher

This program has been successful in transitioning preschool and kindergarten students into our religious school. Students look forward to coming to class, and in five years, all but one child has continued onto full-time religious school.
